Leiston-cum-Sizewell Town Council has formally raised concerns with East Suffolk Council over ongoing problems with the area's new waste and recycling collection service.
The town council says it has received a significant number of reports from residents about missed food waste collections since the service was introduced.
While acknowledging that new services can face initial challenges, councillors say the scale of the complaints is causing concern. They have also questioned advice given to residents to place excess food waste in their general waste bins, pointing to the longer period between general waste collections.
The council says it is concerned about the impact the disruption is having on residents and the effect it may be having on public confidence in the new collection system.
In a statement, the authority said it is taking the matter seriously and is actively seeking a resolution on behalf of local people. It has promised to provide further updates when more information becomes available.
Residents who experience missed collections are being encouraged to continue reporting them directly to East Suffolk Council through the appropriate reporting channels.
The town council has thanked residents for their patience while efforts continue to resolve the issues.
