East Suffolk could see some of its highest temperatures on record as an intense heatwave continues across the area.
An amber warning for extreme heat remains in force, with forecasters predicting temperatures could reach the mid to high 30s Celsius in some areas.
The Met Office says the heat poses a risk to health, particularly for older people, young children and those with existing medical conditions. Residents are being advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged periods in direct sunlight and seek shade during the hottest parts of the day.
The warning also highlights the potential for disruption on roads and railways as large numbers of people travel to the Suffolk coast in search of cooler conditions.
Popular destinations including Lowestoft, Southwold and Aldeburgh could see increased visitor numbers as temperatures climb.
Emergency services and health officials are urging people to check on vulnerable neighbours, friends and relatives during the hot spell.
Forecasters say temperatures will remain exceptionally high across east Suffolk, with some locations potentially challenging local temperature records before less hot weather arrives from Sunday (28th June).
