Serious Road Crash near Bungay

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A143 at Earsham, near Bungay involving a motorcycle, a pedestrian and a car.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Tuesday evening (23rd June) after a motorcycle travelling towards Harleston was involved in a collision with a pedestrian who was crossing from a public footpath on the Earsham side of the A143 while pushing a bicycle. The motorcycle was then also involved in a collision with a blue Ford Fiesta.

A woman in her 50s, who was the pedestrian, suffered serious life-changing injuries and was airlifted to Addenbrooke's Hospital.

The motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, also sustained serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta was not injured.

The road remained closed overnight while investigations took place before reopening Wednesday morning (24th June).

Police are now appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw the collision or who may have dashcam footage showing the vehicles involved or their manner of driving before the incident.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact police quoting reference CAD 445.
