Lowestoft’s seafront is preparing to come alive as the countdown begins to this year’s First Light Festival.
The free multi-arts event will transform the coastline this weekend, with a programme of music, dance, storytelling, art, science, workshops, wellbeing sessions and family activities.
Running from the first light of sunrise through to the evening, the festival encourages visitors to explore new ideas, connect with others and enjoy a wide range of creative experiences.
Organisers say the event is designed to celebrate community and make the arts accessible to everyone, with activities taking place across the seafront.
One of the festival’s headline performers will be folk-rock singer Seth Lakeman, who is due to take to the beach stage on Sunday afternoon.
First Light Festival has become one of Suffolk’s and the region's best-known summer events, attracting thousands of visitors to Lowestoft each year.
As well as live performances, the programme includes interactive workshops, wellbeing activities and family-friendly entertainment throughout the weekend.
Residents and visitors are being encouraged to plan ahead, with large crowds expected along the seafront.
Further details about the full programme, travel arrangements and accessibility information are available through the festival organisers.
