Man Charged With Murder Following Lowestoft Incident

A man has been charged with murder in connection with an incident in Lowestoft that took place almost seven years ago.

Police were called shortly after 11.35pm to a property in Victoria Road, Lowestoft, following reports that a woman had been attacked.

Officers arrived to find Sarah Crush, aged 39 at the time, suffering from a serious head injury. She was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment.

Sarah remained in hospital and other healthcare settings requiring round-the-clock care. She later died in December 2025 at the age of 45.

Following an investigation, Stephen Crush, aged 65 and formerly of Lowestoft, has now been charged with murder.

He appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear before Ipswich Crown Court on Tuesday 9th June.

The charge relates to the original incident at the Victoria Road address and follows the death of Sarah Crush several years after she sustained her injuries.
