Residents are being encouraged to attend a public meeting to discuss proposals for the South Saxmundham Garden Neighbourhood following the validation of the planning application by East Suffolk Council.
Organisers have apologised for the short notice of the joint public meeting, explaining that until recently they did not know when the application would be formally validated and published.
They say the meeting is intended to give residents an early opportunity to hear an overview of the proposals and share their initial views on the development.
Organisers acknowledge that the application documents are extensive and that many people may not yet have had time to review them in detail. As a result, the meeting is being described as the start of a wider conversation rather than a detailed examination of every aspect of the plans.
If there is sufficient public interest, organisers say they will arrange a follow-up meeting once residents have had more time to study the application and supporting documents.
The meeting will take place at Saxmundham Market Hall at 7pm on Tuesday 9 June.
Residents are being encouraged to attend and help shape the community response to what organisers describe as an important planning application for the town.
