Aldeburgh Carnival fireworks cancelled because of dry conditions

Aldeburgh Carnival is going ahead tonight, but the fireworks have been cancelled because of the very dry conditions.

Organisers have confirmed there will still be plenty of extra entertainment happening as part of the carnival celebrations, including the lantern parade.

The decision to cancel the fireworks comes as dry conditions continue, with organisers putting safety first.

Visitors are still being encouraged to come along and enjoy the carnival atmosphere and the other entertainment taking place throughout the evening.

People are being asked to help future Aldeburgh Carnivals by donating this year,
