Aldeburgh Carnival

The Aldeburgh 82nd Carnival (August 15-17th)
And so, we are almost there it continues with final preparations for one of the longest running and greatest Carnivals to be held across East Anglia.
We could not run this amazing event without the support of YOU the public who offer your valuable time to make these a successful and fun 3 days either attending as a volunteer or just to enjoy the festivities and have some well-deserved fun and relaxation!!

ivolunteer is open on Aldeburgh Carnival website so go on and take a look and please add your name and select the role in which you would be interested to support ……….every hour you can spare is invaluable to us we encourage you to sign up for any small task and we guarantee it will make a difference, this is critical for us to be able to safely hold all of the events over Carnival weekend.

Our 2026 Carnival Queen
Our 2026 Carnival Queen is thrilled and super excited to be accepting this honour and representing her home town.
Her name is Izzie Buzzard and Izzie is from Aldeburgh and is 20 years old and attends York University where she is studying for a degree in Sociology. Izzie was a Carnival attendant in 2015, and she has also been a huge supporter of Aldeburgh Carnival volunteering at Carnival for several years.
A comment from Izzie ‘I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to be chosen as this years Carnival Queen. Aldeburgh Carnival is such a wonderful tradition and such an important part of community life’
Izzie will be joined by her attendants Mabel and Delilah and both girls are so excited to have been chosen and are enjoying the preparations leading up to Carnival.
Our 2026 theme ‘Country and Eastern’ Aldeburgh Ho Down clearly has country and western connotations.
We will be actively encouraging the Carnival floats to be country themed and for the thousands of people who attend we would also encourage you to join in the theme and don your Stetsons and cowboy and cowgirl boots!! to get in the spirit of Country & Eastern an Aldeburgh Ho Down!!
Entertainment Over Carnival Weekend
We will have many of the entertainment events that we have had in prior years which always receive huge praise and entertain all ages across the 4 days.
We have exciting and big changes to the Duck race, these changes have come from the enthusiasm and inspiration to entertain young and old from one of our new Committee member Jane Simpson.
The super-duper and ever so popular Samba Band have committed to join us once again!! Thanks to all!
The ever-popular Kites will be back, and we will be entertained on the beach on Saturday by the local musical talent. We have also country music and a line dancing troop to entertain us on Carnival Monday in the High street.
We will bring the Carnival to a close on Monday with our evening lantern parade and spectacular fireworks on Aldeburgh beach.
Once again, we are super excited to plan another successful Carnival and without volunteers, sponsors, public services and the attendance of local and further afield people and we could not run a successful Carnival which raises much needed funds for many local charities.
