Southwold beach was packed with paws, leads and wagging tails as thousands of Dachshunds – and their owners – took part in the town’s now annual Sausage Dog Walk.
The event has grown into a world record-breaking occasion for the number of Dachshunds gathered in one place, attracting visitors from across the country and beyond.
Organised by Laura Baggett (pictured with her Sausage Dog), the walk began as a small local get-together but has since become one of the most recognisable community events on the Suffolk coast.
Speaking to East Suffolk One, Laura said it’s incredible to see how much joy the event brings to both participants and spectators.
The promenade and beach were filled with dogs dressed in colourful coats, costumes and collars as they made their way along the seafront — cheered on by crowds of supporters.
Many local businesses also joined in, with cafés and shops reporting a busy weekend thanks to the influx of visitors.
The Southwold Sausage Dog Walk now firmly holds its place as one of the quirkiest and most heartwarming fixtures on Suffolk’s seaside calendar.
