A swimmer has been rescued after being swept along by strong currents and clinging to the end of South Pier in Lowestoft.
The incident happened at around 3:25pm on Monday (11th August), when RNLI lifeguards spotted the man struggling in the water. A callout was made and Lowestoft RNLI lifeboat, which reported the rescue on 'X', reached the swimmer within minutes.
The crew brought him back to their mooring, where he was passed into the care of ambulance and coastguard teams.
The RNLI is again reminding people to be aware of changing tides and strong currents along the Suffolk coast, and to seek help immediately if they see anyone in difficulty.
