Suffolk County Council has launched a public consultation inviting residents, businesses and community organisations to share their views as it prepares its 2026/27 budget.
The online survey explains the council’s current financial position and outlines potential Council Tax changes and spending priorities for the year ahead. It also highlights existing cost-saving measures and possible ways to generate additional income to support essential services.
Residents are being asked which council services they use most, whether they support an increase in Council Tax, and which areas should be prioritised in the new budget.
Councillor Richard Smith MVO, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Finance, Economic Development and Skills, said councils across the country are facing “significant financial pressures” as demand for services continues to rise.
“Every year, the demand for adult and children’s services grows, while public funding hasn’t kept pace,” he said.
“That’s why it’s important we hear from Suffolk residents. Your views will help shape our priorities and ensure we make the right choices for our communities.”
The consultation runs until Tuesday 25th November 2025, and all feedback will help inform the council’s final 2026/27 budget, due to be approved in February 2026.
