Parts of Suffolk’s coast and Broads were hit by flooding and power cuts as Storm Amy swept through the area.
A North Sea storm surge coincided with high tide on Sunday, prompting flood warnings for areas including Beccles Quay, Oulton Broad, and Southwold. The Environment Agency monitored water levels closely as crews responded to reports of localised flooding in low-lying areas.
Strong winds also caused disruption inland. Hundreds of homes near Saxmundham lost power after gale-force gusts brought down power lines.
Rail services on the East Suffolk line were affected too, after a fallen tree blocked part of the route, leading to cancellations and delays.
Suffolk Highways also dealt with dozens of blocked roads by fallen trees on Saturday.
Emergency teams, local councils, and utility companies worked to restore services and clear debris. Residents are being reminded to stay cautious around floodwater and to report any hazards or damage.
The Environment Agency says conditions are now easing but continues to monitor tide levels along the Suffolk coast.
