Lowestoft’s Gull Wing bridge has been officially opened by Her Royal Highness, Princess Anne.
The special occasion on Tuesday aftrenoon (19th November) saw the Princess welcomed at the Suffolk County and East Suffolk District office at Riverside, where a short recpetion was held.
The Princess then made her way to the new bridge, where a tour of the control tower saw her press the buttons - and open Gull Wing, where Lowestoft’s lifeboat and the historic Excelsior fishing smack sailing through along Lake Lothing.

Princess Anne also made a walk along the bridge to take in the views of Suffolk's second argest town.

Despite the cold weather, hundreds braved the cold weather to see the ceremony take place - and the Princess greeted many of those that had come to see her.
