Reform UK has taken control of Suffolk County Council following Thursday’s local elections, ending two decades of Conservative leadership.
The party secured enough seats across the county to gain overall control of the authority after votes were counted.
The result marks a major political shift in Suffolk, where the Conservatives had led the council for the past 20 years.
Voters across east Suffolk, including in Lowestoft, Beccles and Leiston, took part in the elections alongside communities across the county.
The new administration will now take responsibility for decisions affecting county services including highways, education, transport and social care.
The outcome follows a full day of voting at polling stations across Suffolk, with results confirmed after the count.
