Hundreds of schoolkids from across Suffolk and Norfolk have been heading to the Broads by train this year — all part of a push to promote greener travel.
Greater Anglia and the Broads Authority teamed up to offer free trips, helping children explore nature reserves and riverside walks. The project aims to show just how easy — and eco-friendly — it is to reach the Broads using public transport.
The project has proved a big success — with over 200 young people taking part. They visited wild marshes, nature reserves and riverside trails, spotting wildlife like kingfishers, dragonflies and even otters. The Broads Authority hopes it’ll inspire more people to leave the car behind and enjoy the landscape by train.
