Councils across Suffolk could be scrapped as part of an overhaul of local Government.
Plans to replace the current county structure of five districts and one county council with one new unitary authority are being proposed by a government white paper - this due to be released soon.
A joint statement from the five district councils - including East Suffolk - say that a new authority should maximise benefits for residents.
