Officers from two counties say the chase started in Beccles town centre at about 10.50 am on Sunday 7th December, when a driver accelerated away from officers.
The pursuit continued through east Suffolk and east Norfolk, ending when a stinger was deployed and the vehicle was stopped close to Carlton Colville, where the driver was arrested.
The 40-year-old man, identified as Kris Parker of Mutfordwood Lane, Mutford, was charged with several serious motoring offences: driving while disqualified; dangerous driving; failing to stop; and driving without insurance. He appeared before Great Yarmouth Magistrates' Court on Monday 8th December and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates' Court on 24th December.
Police say the swift response and use of a stinger were necessary to protect public safety during what could have been a very dangerous pursuit. The case serves as a reminder of the consequences of serious motoring offences, including driving while disqualified or uninsured.
Local residents who witnessed the pursuit or have dash-cam or CCTV footage around Carlton Colville are being encouraged to contact the police if they can help.
