Local officers have been out in the community — both at family events and on the foot beat.
PC Deal and PCSO Wicks attended the Whiting Road Summer Roadshow in Oulton Broad, alongside partners from Orwell Housing. The event attracted plenty of local families and offered a chance for residents to speak directly with officers.
The Community Policing Team (CPT) say that taking part in roadshows, hosting street meets and carrying out regular foot patrols are all important ways of hearing about residents’ concerns.
During one recent town-centre patrol, PS Smy and a supervisor spoke with several people and identified a recurring local issue. This led to the arrest of a man for breaching his criminal behaviour order. He has since been charged and bailed to court.
Police thanked everyone who stopped to chat during the patrol and reminded residents that future street meets are advertised in advance here: https://orlo.uk/CS9eE
