A new art exhibition celebrating the creativity of artists with learning disabilities opens today (7th March) at a popular riverside venue near Beccles.
Waveney Enterprises has installed 23 artworks at the Locks Inn Community Pub in Geldeston as part of a new exhibition showcasing pieces created by students working alongside the organisation’s Creative Practitioners.
The Beccles-based arts studio supports adults with learning disabilities and aims to promote inclusive creative practice while providing opportunities for artists to share their work with the wider community.
Organisers say the exhibition highlights a diverse range of artwork and celebrates the creativity, individuality and collaboration of those involved in the studio.
An opening reception is taking place at the venue at 3pm on Saturday, where visitors will have the chance to meet some of the artists and learn more about the organisation’s work.
Later in the month, a drop-in workshop will be held from 2pm to 4.30pm on the 28th March, giving members of the public an opportunity to take part in creative activities and engage directly with the studio’s inclusive approach to art.
The exhibition will remain on display throughout March and April.
