A popular beauty spot in Leiston is now more accessible, following the completion of a new pathway at Hayling’s Pond.
The route, which leads down to the fishing pond, has been created to make it easier for more people to enjoy the area. The improvement was marked by the Mayor, town councillors, and representatives from the Leiston Youth and Community Angling Society, alongside the Suffolk Community Foundation.
The project was funded by a £10,000 grant from the Sizewell C Community Fund, awarded to the angling society.
The new pathway is designed to open up access to the pond for a wider range of visitors, improving inclusivity at one of Leiston’s well-used outdoor spaces.
Hayling’s Pond is a well-known local spot, and the upgrade is expected to make a noticeable difference for residents and visitors wanting to spend time there.
