UPDATE: 14:00 on 22nd March 2026 A woman has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Lowestoft.
Police were called to Sparrow’s Nest Gardens at 10.13pm on Friday 20th March, where a 54-year-old man was found unresponsive. Despite the efforts of emergency services, he was pronounced dead.
Subject to formal inquest proceedings, the man has been identified as Gary Grant, from Lowestoft. His family is being supported by specialist officers.
A 28-year-old woman, Amber Stebbings, of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with murder. She has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court.
A Home Office post-mortem examination has taken place, with the cause of death currently pending further investigation.
Police say the incident is being treated as isolated and that the individuals involved were known to each other. The police cordon at the scene has now been lifted.
Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information, including motorists who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time.
