Lound Village Hall targeted in recent spate of burglaries

Lound Village Hall has been targeted in a recent series of burglaries in the village, with equipment stolen from the recently refurbished building.

The church was also broken into, with a Hoover and a key to the Village Hall reportedly taken.

The thieves then used the key to enter the hall, where they attempted to remove a ceiling-mounted projector from a downstairs room. The attempt was unsuccessful.

However, a monitor was stolen from the recently refurbished upstairs meeting room.

The equipment is used by the Parish Council and Village Hall committees, as well as the Computer Club and other users of the hall.

Those behind the Village Hall say the thefts are particularly upsetting in a small community where volunteers work hard to maintain facilities for local residents.

People in Lound are being urged to remain vigilant and make sure sheds, garages and other outbuildings are securely locked.

Residents are also encouraged to report any suspicious activity to Suffolk Police.
