Free guided walk from Saxmundham to Aldeburgh

A free guided walk on Thursday from Saxmundham to Aldeburgh will give walkers the chance to explore the Suffolk coast and countryside, including the Sailors’ Path.

Starting at 10.00am, The 10-mile walk takes around four to five hours and starts at Greater Anglia's Saxmundham station. The route passes through heathland, woodland and marshy meadows before reaching Aldeburgh and the North Sea.

Walkers can return to Saxmundham by First Eastern Counties bus service 64.

There is also a shorter five-and-a-half-mile option, with walkers able to join the group at Snape Maltings around lunchtime. Those taking this option can travel from Wickham Market station on the bookable Katch bus, with trains arriving at 12.06pm and 12.42pm. The bus journey to Snape Maltings takes less than 15 minutes.

Walkers can take a lunch break at the Maltings café or pub, or bring a picnic.

The walk itself does not need to be booked—participants can simply turn up. Anyone joining at Snape Maltings is asked to message the organisers in advance.

Dogs are welcome on the walk, and on the Katch bus when travelling from Wickham Market station.
