Waveney MP Peter Aldous says that ongoing roadworks in Barnby are hitting local businesses at the worst possible time. Businesses in the village and neighbouring North Cove say they are suffering badly, as time spent on roadworks on The Street, near the A146, get extended yet again. T he timing of the road closure follows a tough time during the pandemic for businesses…and as Peter Aldous told us at East Suffolk One, they have really 'put a spanner in the works'. M eanwhile,a business in Barnby has had to make people redundant because of months of the nearby roadworks. The villages' Garden Centre has been cut off from the A146 Lowestoft to Beccles road…which have been in place at what should be their busiest time of the year. Owners say the lack of customers has meant that plants have had to be thrown away with financial losses continuing.
