A former Prime Minister has left a Suffolk stage after a banner mocking her appeared whilst she was talking.
Liz Truss was on stage at Beccles Public Hall and Theatre on Tuesday evening (13th August) as part of a wider tour around the country.
The moment when she left the stage occurred in the second half of the event, when she was expressing her support for Donald Trump, when the banner reading 'I crashed the economy' and featuring a lettuce - was unvieled from above. Liz Truss left the stage - saying, 'it's not funny'.
In what turned out to be an eventful evening, East Suffolk One has been told by people who were in the theatre, that Liz Truss was also heckled in the first half of her appearance.
