A special evening is being planned in Lowestoft to celebrate what would have been the 100th birthday of much-respected local historian Jack Rose.
The Jack Rose Old Lowestoft Society has invited members of the Lowestoft Archaeological and Local History Society to attend the event, which will take place at Trinity Church Hall, with access via Park Road.
The celebration will begin this evening at 7pm for a 7.30pm start and is free to attend, although there will be a raffle on the night and donations will be welcomed to help cover the cost of refreshments.
Jack Rose was originally a member of the Lowestoft Archaeological and Local History Society and is remembered for his enthusiasm and contribution to preserving the town’s history. Organisers say they would be delighted to see a strong turnout from local history members to mark the occasion and honour his legacy.
The event is open to those with an interest in Lowestoft’s past and offers an opportunity to come together to remember a figure who played a valued role in the town’s heritage.
