A man has been arrested following a police stop in Halesworth.
Officers from the response team were on patrol when they spotted a man in an alleyway who then changed direction after noticing them. Police approached and carried out checks before conducting a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.
During the search, officers found cannabis, cash and multiple mobile phones.
Further searches of the surrounding area led to the discovery of a container holding a substance believed to be Class A drugs. The items have been seized and will be forensically examined.
The man was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, and was further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Police say the arrest forms part of ongoing proactive work to tackle drug-related activity in the area.
