Halesworth Town Council is running a free shuttle bus service this Wednesday (29th October) to help residents reach nearby Post Offices Peasenhall.
The trial service aims to support the community following the temporary loss of local Post Office services. If it proves popular, the shuttle will continue on future Wednesdays until a more permanent solution is found.
The bus will pick up from the Thoroughfare Middle Car Park, near the disabled spaces and walkway behind the White Hart, at 9:30am, 10:00am, 10:30am and 11:00am. Each bus seats up to 16 passengers and provides a return trip.
Post Offices in Peasenhall offer a wide range of services, including:
- Cash withdrawals and deposits
- Cheque deposits
- Parcel drop-offs and the Drop & Go service
- Bill payments and mobile top-ups
- Foreign currency and travel money
The Town Council says the initiative is about keeping the community connected while essential services are unavailable locally.
Passengers are advised there’s limited storage space on board and a small step when boarding. At present, the vehicle is not wheelchair accessible.
Residents can simply turn up at the car park at any of the scheduled times to catch the bus — no booking is required.
