Fire crews from across the county attended a large fire at a flat in north Lowestoft this afternoon (3rd June).
Fire crews from across the county attended a large fire at a flat in north Lowestoft this afternoon (3rd June).
Emergency services were called to the incident on Gu Lane off the High Street, just after 2 o'clock, with 13 crews called in to help bring the fire under control.
It has been reported that two people were rescued from the scence - but did not need to go to hospital.
Nearby residents were advised to keep windows and doors closed becuase of the smoke by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.
Social media reported the closure of the A47 Artillery Way for a time as a result of the fire.
Shortly after 6 o'clock - fire crews at the scene were stood down.
