A family of four and their dog were rescued after their hire boat became stuck under a bridge on the River Waveney at St Olaves.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the bridge carrying the A143 Beccles Road at around 10:55am on Saturday.
The cruiser had become wedged beneath the bridge, prompting a response from coastguard teams and other emergency services. Attempts were made to free the vessel, but strong winds and a fast-rising tide made this impossible.
Instead, efforts focused on ensuring the safety of those on board. The family and their dog were successfully brought ashore by a boat from a nearby marina.
HM Coastguard said crews made sure the group were safe and well following the incident.
The boat remained stuck under the bridge as conditions made recovery difficult at the time.
The incident highlights the challenges of navigating the Broads during changing weather and tidal conditions, particularly in exposed locations such as St Olaves.
