Lifeboat volunteers in Lowestoft were called to a rescue at Lake Lothing after reports of a person in the water.
The call came in at 9.59am on Saturday (25th October), prompting the Lowestoft RNLI crew to assemble.
However, before the lifeboat launched, a rigid inflatable boat (RIB) arrived at the lifeboat mooring with the person thankfully already rescued from the water on board.
Crew members immediately assisted in transferring the individual into the lifeboat station, where they were placed in the care of ambulance personnel for further medical attention.
The RNLI has praised the swift response of those aboard the RIB who carried out the initial rescue. No further details about the person’s condition have been released.
The incident highlights the teamwork between local boaters, emergency services, and volunteer crews who respond rapidly to emergencies along the Lowestoft waterfront.
