Smoke spotted across parts of east Suffolk has been linked to a large wildfire burning in the Netherlands.
Residents in Lowestoft, Corton, Beccles and Henstead reported seeing smoke drifting across otherwise clear blue skies, prompting questions about its source.
The plume is believed to have travelled across the southern North Sea, carried by strong easterly winds.
The wildfire is reported to have broken out in countryside areas near Utrecht and Arnhem, with smoke spreading over a wide area.
While the fire is burning overseas, its impact has been visible locally, with skies appearing hazy at times across parts of the Suffolk coast and surrounding areas.
