Three people were initially reported to have been arrested following an incident at a school in Beccles.
Several police cars and vans were seen in the Ellough Road area shortly before midday yesterday (Thursday 13th March) - with the police reporting that the arrests took place outside the Beccles Primary School building.
Suffolk Police say that a 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage – threat or possession with intent to commit - and was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning. Dennis Weller, 30, of Grove Road, Beccles, was subsequently charged with threats to damage / destroy property and permitting nuisance or disturbance on school premises.
Meanwhile, a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault of a police officer and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centrefor questioning. Rooney Master, 21, of Beccles Road in Wheatacre, was subsequently charged with common assault of an emergency worker.
Both men were bailed to appear at Great Yarmouth Magistrates’ Court on 16th April.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre. The woman was later released without charge.
