Three arrests were made during a Day of Action in Halesworth and Southwold aimed at strengthening community safety.
Officers from Suffolk Constabulary’s Community Policing Team, Kestrel Team, Modern Day Slavery Team and Response Investigation Team were joined by Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, Home Office Immigration Officers and East Suffolk Council’s Community and Housing Officers for the Community Action operation on 25th April.
Partner agencies, supported by the Police, conducted a series of checks and inspections aimed at strengthening community safety through a day of collective activity.
Two arrests were made for illegal working by Immigration, the Fire Service placed prohibitions on two premises and East Suffolk Council made referrals to Food Hygiene, Building Control and Trading Standards during the day.
Officers also arrested a man who was wanted for a GBH offence.
Halesworth Community Policing Team said this is part of an ongoing series of operations around the Local Policing Area, working with partners to safeguard vulnerable communities and tackle criminality. Anybody who has concerns, suspicions or information around modern-day slavery or other criminality should contact Suffolk Police via www.suffolk.police.uk or call 101.
