Suffolk Police are warning people about a cold calling scam in the Lowestoft area.
Officers are urging residents to be vigilant following a report of a cold caller at an address in Cranesbill Road in the town.
An unknown man attended an address and stated to the owner there was something wrong with their roof. The unknown man accessed the roof - and the homeowner heard banging sounds.
The man has then said the 'work' would cost £800. The homeowner believes the man caller has caused the damage. No money was paid.
The cold caller is described as approximately 50 - 60 years old, bald, large stomach and wearing a chequered shirt.
A similar incident in Honeysuckle Close was mentioned by the reporting person.
