Record-breaking May temperatures in Suffolk have led to restrictions for boat users after hot weather affected swing bridge operations on the Broads.
The Broads Authority issued a warning through Network Rail that Somerleyton Swing Bridge was unable to open because of heat restrictions, affecting river traffic on the River Waveney until Monday evening.
Similar heat-related issues were also reported at Reedham Swing Bridge.
The restrictions affected boat users travelling through the area, although rail passengers avoided disruption, with Wherry Line train services between Suffolk and Norwich continuing to run as normal.
With high temperatures expected again across east Suffolk today, people are being advised to keep an eye on local weather updates and forecasts.
