Beccles para-swimmer Will Ellard is back in Suffolk after adding another major gold medal to his growing collection.
Ellard spoke to East Suffolk One at Beccles Lido following his success at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Representing Team England, the 20-year-old won gold in the Men's S14 200-metre freestyle, setting a new Commonwealth Games record of one minute 51-point-66 in the final.
The victory completed a remarkable career Grand Slam in the event, with Ellard now holding Paralympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles.
The Suffolk swimmer began his career with Beccles Kingfishers Swimming Club and went on to win Paralympic gold at Paris 2024 before adding the Commonwealth title to his achievements in Glasgow. He is now already gearing for the next Paralympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028.
