Beccles councillors clear overgrown footpath ahead of new school term

Three Beccles councillors have spent a Saturday morning clearing an overgrown unaccessible footpath.

East Suffolk District Councillors Caroline Topping, Sarah Plummer and County Councillor Ash Lever, spent the time clearing away litter, weeds, brambles and accumulated soil from Fredericks Road.

The work was carried out just in time for the return to school, helping to make the footpath more accessible for local residents and children.

One resident told the councillors: “I have lived up here 20 years and never seen that footpath.”

The councillors also thanked C C Betts in Beccles for providing a cup of tea and lending some equipment to help with the work.
