Young people in Lowestoft are being encouraged to apply for a brand-new Youth Council aimed at giving them a stronger voice in the town’s future.
Lowestoft Town Council is launching the scheme for people aged between 10 and 18 who either live in the town or attend a local school or college.
The Youth Council will allow members to discuss issues affecting young people, share ideas and get involved in projects linked to the community and the future of Lowestoft.
Town councillors say the group is designed to help young people influence local decision-making while also building confidence, skills and experience.
No previous experience is required, with organisers encouraging applications from young people of all backgrounds who want to get involved and represent the views of others in their age group.
Full details about how the Youth Council will work, along with application information, are available through Lowestoft Town Council.
