Lowestoft Ice House Gets Demolished

An historic landmark in Lowestoft is being dismantled.

Work is currently underway to demolish The Ice House in Battery Green Road.

Since the mid 19th century, this area at the docks had been part of a busy fishing industry.

The building played a huge part as it is where freshly caught fish would be stored before being transported around the country to sell.

Work to flatten the area comes with work soon to start on revelepoping the nearby former multi-story car park, as part of a new Cultural Quarter for the town.
