Leiston's Long Shop Museum mourns founder and patron Lord Cranbrook

The Long Shop Museum in Leiston has paid tribute to its founder and patron, Lord Cranbrook, following his death.

The museum says it is saddened by the loss of a man who played a key role in saving what it describes as a unique and important part of Suffolk's heritage.

Lord Cranbrook's work helped transform the historic Long Shop into much more than a preserved industrial site — creating opportunities for learning, personal development, community wellbeing and civic pride.

Only a few months ago, he attended an event to officially name the Cranbrook Gallery in his honour.

The museum says his contribution to preserving and developing the Long Shop will always be remembered.
