Lowestoft’s rich heritage will be celebrated at a brand new “Lowestoft History Day” this weekend.
The event will take place at Lowestoft Library on Saturday February 28th from 10am to 4pm and is the first of its kind to be organised as part of the Lowestoft Town Hall Project.
Lowestoft History Day aims to shine a spotlight on the town’s vibrant past, bringing together local museums, historians, authors and heritage groups under one roof.
Visitors will have the chance to discover what local museums have to offer, learn more about the area’s history and explore opportunities to get involved, including volunteering roles.
There will also be opportunities to meet local authors, speak to heritage organisations and purchase museum merchandise and books.
Organisers say the day is designed to celebrate the people and organisations who help preserve Lowestoft’s story, while inspiring more residents to connect with their local history.
The free event runs from 10am until 4pm and is open to all.
