Beccles Quay parkrun has celebrated its first anniversary, with 133 people taking part in this weekend’s event.
There were 54 first-timers, including four people completing their first ever parkrun, while 23 volunteers supported the event.
The anniversary event also coincided with parkrun’s 22nd birthday celebrations, with participants encouraged to wear tutus. One participant even received a duck as a prize for getting into the spirit of the occasion.
Beccles Quay parkrun began in October 2025 and has continued to grow since its inaugural event.
The event was also a personal milestone for the Town Mayor, Joe Athorn, who reflected on the positive impact parkrun has had on the local community and on their own wellbeing journey.
They described the Beccles Quay parkrun community as a source of comfort and support, and praised everyone involved in helping the event continue to go from strength to strength.
The course takes participants around the Quay and along the River Waveney, with runners, joggers and walkers all taking part.
