Suffolk Swimmer's Two Gold Medals and Sets New World Record

    Will with his first gold medal in Singapore

    ​​​​​​​Paralympic champion Will Ellard has added another two gold medals to his collection — and once more on the world stage.

    The Beccles swimmer became world champion in the men’s 200m freestyle S14 after a stunning performance. Not only did he take the title, he also broke his own world record in the event.

    Ellard’s new mark of 1:51.08 sets the standard even higher, beating the record he previously held.

    Will also won a bronze medal in the 100metre backstroke S14 final - and yesterday (Wednesday 24th September) he won another gold - this time in the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay S14 Final.

    The results cements Ellard’s place among the top swimmers in his class, continuing a run of major international success. His achievements have already made him a source of pride for the Beccles community - where is was given 'Freedom of the Twon' - and the latest victorys add another chapter to his remarkable career.
