Fire crews from Framlingham and Woodbridge were called out in the early hours of Saturday (20th September) after a stable caught fire.
When firefighters arrived, they found the building well alight, with the flames threatening to spread to nearby trees. Crews immediately used hose reel jets to contain the blaze and limit damage.
A hydrant was located, but water pressure proved too low for the scale of the fire. Firefighters switched to a light portable pump, drawing from an open water source nearby. This provided the extra supply needed to fully extinguish the flames.
The swift action of both crews meant the fire was brought under control quickly, and no further damage was reported.
Residents in the area may have noticed emergency vehicles and activity during the early hours, but the incident was resolved without disruption to nearby homes.
