There’s positive news for shoppers in Leiston as Nichols Family Butchers has confirmed it will remain open.
The family-run business had been considering selling, following a period that has seen a number of shop closures in the town. However, after what it described as “careful consideration”, the owners have decided to defer the sale for at least a year.
In a statement, the team said they wanted to see how things develop locally before making any final decisions about the future of the business.
They also thanked both long-standing and new customers for their support during what they called uncertain times, and said they hope that backing will continue in the months and years ahead.
The announcement is likely to be welcomed by many in the town, where independent retailers remain a key part of the high street.
For now, Nichols Family Butchers says it is focused on continuing to serve the community and looking ahead to a “good and prosperous year.”
