A creative workshop exploring marine life and the future of the North Sea is being held in Lowestoft.
The session will take place at The Battery on London Road North and invites participants to imagine and role-play life inside a fictional “marine hotel”.
Led by artists Ed Compson and Arieh Frosh, the workshop is inspired by offshore “Kittiwake Hotels” — nesting structures built to support seabirds affected by construction at sea. The project expands the idea to consider what a shared space for all marine life could look like.
Participants will take on roles ranging from sea creatures such as harbour porpoises and cold-water coral, to researchers, archaeologists and local residents. Through group discussion and role play, they will explore how these different perspectives interact.

The event is free to attend and runs for three hours.
