Suffolk Police were called at 1.45pm on Saturday 22nd November following reports of an incident at the Bear and Bells public house in Old Market, Beccles.
It is reported that, after being asked to leave the premises, a man became aggressive, brandished a hammer that was found inside the pub, and made threats towards staff.
Officers attended the scene and arrested a 27-year-old man from Cambridge on suspicion of affray. He was taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre for questioning and has been released on bail until 22nd January while enquiries continue.
Meanwhile, a 55-year-old man from the Beccles area was arrested on suspicion of making homophobic comments. He was also taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre and likewise bailed until 22nd January pending further investigation.
