Paralympic champion Will Ellard has added yet another gold medal to his haul in the Far East.
The Beccles swimmer has today (26th September) won his third gold medal, adding to a bronze at the Word Para Swimming Championships that have been held in Singapore.
Will's third gold came in the Mixed 4 x 100 Freestyle Medley Relay S14 - when during the third leg of the race it took him less than 55 sesconds to swim his 100m leg. This helped push the quartet to gold for Great Britain, with silver going to Brazil and bronze to Thailand.
Earlier this week, Will became world champion in the men’s 200m freestyle S14 after another stunning performance. Not only did he take the title, he also broke his own world record in the event.
Ellard’s new mark of 1:51.08 sets the standard even higher, beating the record he previously held.
Will also won a bronze medal in the 100metre backstroke S14 final - and on Wednesday (24th September) he won another gold - this time in the Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay S14 Final.
The results cements Ellard’s place among the top swimmers in his class, continuing a run of major international success. His achievements have already made him a source of pride for the Beccles community - where is was given 'Freedom of the Town' - and the latest victorys add another chapter to his remarkable career.
