Lifeboat crews were called out at 10.32am on Tuesday (4th November) after reports of a motor cruiser struggling to make headway along the Suffolk coast amid rough conditions.

The vessel appeared in danger of capsizing, prompting an immediate response from Lowestoft RNLI and the windfarm support vessel Njord Forseti.

Both vessels reached the cruiser and provided shelter from the waves, creating a calmer area of water so it could make safe progress. Working together, they escorted the boat into Lowestoft Harbour without further incident.

No injuries were reported, and the lifeboat returned to station once the vessel was safely alongside.

The RNLI is reminding boat owners to check forecasts carefully before heading out and to ensure all safety and communication equipment is in good working order.
